Do you have problem on the new Facebook Chat? Hard to find friends who is online on your chat list? No Scrollbars? You need to search A,B,C,D,E,F just to find who is online…
Here are my HACKS on how to switch back to old Facebook Chat.
- 1. You need to open New Tab (CTRL+T for firefox)
- 2. Open your Album Directory (http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/)
- 3. Click the Facebook Chat Box on the Bottom Right
- 4. You can now Enjoy chatting your friends with the old Facebook Chat.
Hope it solved your problem. Please give credit to GensanBlog.com, as you post this solution on your website.
Due to new Facebook update the solution won’t work on some FB Accounts, We are still working on a small Javascript Code to put up a scrollbar and list all your friends on the new chat box..

- If the above solution will not work, try to hide Sidebar (Chat box Settings > Hide Sidebar) then close all Facebook Tab and do the above solution.
- You can still used the pop-out chat (http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php)

I think that it was just a glitch in the system where it only worked for a little bit because it doesn’t work anymore. I wrote a post explaining how to use the new chat though; click my name to see it.

I really don’t chat. I like the old chat system where i can see those who want to be seen and have the option to go online when I want to. Now every time I log on, I am automatically online in chat.
Is there a way with the new system to do it?

If you dont like the chat bar taking up the side of your screen hit CTRL and + (windows) or Command and + (Mac)
this will zoom your page in a little bit
your online contacts will stay on the left of your homepage when the chat list is open also
to go back to the normal size screen press CTRL and 0 (windows) or Command and 0 (mac)
