Ascend G510 is a cool smart phone that makes you experience the feature of Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with 4.5 inches screen and capable for multitouch, internal memory of 4GB and 512 MB ram (not bad), 5 MP autofocus, LED flash primary camera and VGA secondary camera, Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon Chipset and Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A5.
I got this on a Telecom Company “Globe” on their Plan 299, with a lock-in period of 2 years, Not bad for those who not really used mobile data, messaging, and Calls. As i experience on the company, i was disappointed on their Service.
First the way they treat the client is good at first many “flower flowers”, but once you already approved, the quality service is gone. When i got my first bill, i was shock because the bill is too high “more than 1K”, i ask the customer service what happen to my bill. Due to miss used “my fault, many calls” the bill goes to that range. But, i question then that where is the Credit limit of 700? My usage supposedly stop after reaching 700. “the agent has so many reason!”. After this incident i decided to be careful on my usage, my bill still goes to that range 🙁 .
Second thing i don’t like to this company is when, the phone experience the problem of always heating, after accidentally connect the phone on the USB of the CPU “front side”, which has a fault, using the data cord. The USB may grounded or may be the pins inside are not on there designations. The phone suddenly black out and i cannot turn-on, unless i take the battery off and put it back. The phone start heating after this, even it is not use or off. I visit the Customer services again, ask for help to solve the problem, the representative check the phone and told me that, the application running are the cause of the problem. I response that i already restore it to factory settings and no other application are running, even it is off, it’s still heating. After a long conversation, i ask the representative that can they do the check-up and repair to this phone? The representative told me that when i will let them fix the unit, they will send it to there main office and service it and wait for 2 to 3 months to send it back here. No guarantee that they can fix the issue. What a poor Service they have. Hopefully they can change the system they have.
Back to the phone 🙂 Long story LOL… I use to create this post, helping me to find a way to repair this phone, and for those who experience the same problem. I already search the web looking for the same problem, but no match.
I already ask for repair to technicians on our area but no one can assure to fix the problem, after making conversation to the experts three of the told me that an IC has damage or defect, due to the incident. After seeking for help, i decide to check it again personally and check the model of the IC. I found this
It is a power IC with a Model Number of PM8029, after search to the web, it is also use on Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562.
