Today is the 440th Birthday of the great mathematician Piere de Fermet the man behind infinitesimal calculus, probability, Fermet’s principle, Fermet’s Last Theorem, Number theory and analytic geometry. He was born late August 17, 1601 at Beaumont-de-Lomagne, Tarn-et-Garonne and died at Castres, Tarn.
